What is Online Reputation Management?
When you monitor search engine result pages and any mentions in online media about your brand, company name, service or product, you are engaging in online reputation management.
Few companies do that on an ongoing basis. However, with the growth in consumer generated media, companies need to reorient themselves to the change in the online landscape.
Now that there is much more information about any particular brand, company, service or product available on the web, it is important that people searching for information on your company or brand see positive information first. Even if there is no information available on you online, that is a problem. It shows people don’t care enough about your company to be talking about it.
For instance, EBay was one of the first companies to use feedback from user generated content. Consumers gave ratings on other users of EBay based on their interaction with them as buyers or sellers. Hence buyers and sellers were given reputations which helped other users decide whether they wanted to transact with them. Acc to digital marketing agency : Nikulsan Technologies.

Why invest?
Until a few years ago, it was common for people to stay in the same job all their working lives. But today, every sector has an ocean of job opportunities to offer. Unlike in a cushy government job, where one gets the benefit of a pension that has a dearness allowance built in (which grows with inflation), most people work in the private sector, without any guaranteed job security. Thus, the only way to secure old age is to invest now, when one is young and capable of earning.
Investment addresses the acute concern of the ‘sandwich’ generation who looks after their aged parents and takes care of their children’s needs today, but can’t depend upon their children to look after them in their old age. It’s quintessential that they make the most of their earning years and invest for their future needs. If that sounds intimidating, take heart. All you need to get started is a primer on investing.
The chief principle is that investment is all about making your hard earned money earn more money for you! Simply put, it is the practice of making your money work for you, while you work for more money.Digital Marketing Agency-Nikulsan Technologies

Perspective: The world today
The world of money has been through some bizarre times over the past few years. It all started in 2006, when the housing bubble in the US burst. This in turn led to the sub-prime credit crisis, which was of an unprecedented scale. Then followed the series of bailout programmes in countries across the globe and equilibrium returned, taking markets up again.
However, during the crisis, borrowers defaulted on their loans; banks started going bankrupt. Many corporate and retail investors, mainly global, who had invested in mortgage-backed securities, lost their money; they too went bankrupt. This cascaded into a full blown global crisis. Fortunately, countries like India got away with mere ripple effects.
But the ripple effects were enough to serve as sharp reminders of the times we live in. We were just loving our lifestyles, that of rising incomes, easy credit and high luxury. Then came the scare of jobless, rising prices and piling debts. But it didn’t have to be that way. With a little bit of smart planning and investing, you can cushion, if not ward off, any crisis.
The key is planning AND investing. Investing your money is not just parking some money in the bank every few months. A good investment system needs both, time to plan and money to invest. With that, let us now look into both these aspects, the importance of investing and investing with a plan.

Who should care about Online Reputation Management?
In the pre internet era, reputation was easier to control. Companies doled out information on their activities to the media, which informed consumers. Today’s online world has decentralised and democratized this reputation creation. Citizen journalism has resulted in consumers participating in shaping your reputation. Hence, corporate cannot push the perception they want consumers to have online; they must recognize that they are one of the participants, along with their consumers in the creation of the company’s reputation.
The reputations of an organisation, its brands and employees are inter-related. The country of origin can affect an organisation’s reputation. Another influence on a company’s reputation is the industry it belongs to. Competition also affects a company’s reputation. If one company’s reputation slides, the others look better in comparison. The reputation of the top management, like the CEO’s reputation also affects the reputation of the organisation. Small individuality, but significant when taken together, are the ways in which each employee can influence over the company’s reputation within his or her circle of friends, customers and family. Take advantage of the nature of the internet as a medium. Listen to customer feedback and what they need online. Design your products according to their requirements. Sit back and watch the positive feedback come in.
Even as an individual, you need to be careful about what your online persona is saying about you. Today, it is much easier for anyone with access to the internet to find out, with one click of mouse, about your past and present. What if a negative comment has been left on your blog? Learn how to manage your personal brand by highlighting your achievements on the right sites so that they are search friendly. You should be aware of how you can minimize the impact of negative news about you by ensuring that positive content about you shows up first on search engines. Why Online Reputation Management?
Why should you as a company think about online reputation management? Isn’t that out of your control? In the real world, yes. Online, your reputation has a much larger audience – anyone who wants to, can bring up a list of results about you.
Who’s writing about you? It’s not just the digital avatars of journalists but your consumers. With the increase in the number of online communication channels, people are talking about every aspect of their life online.
This includes you and your effect on your consumers’ lives. Earlier, these conversations would happen in real time, around the water cooler. Now, they occur simultaneously, on the water cooler that is the net, and are documented in perpetuity. More people are talking, more and more are listening.
How then, can you influence your online reputation?
Reputation is critical. It means how positively, or negatively, a company or similar institution is perceived by its stakeholders. The success of any organisation or entity depends on the people or entities that the company or institution relies on. The image they have of an organisation would hence directly affect the success of the entity. For many for-profit companies, typical stakeholders might include customers, employees, suppliers, or financial analysts. For governments or political entities such as Congress, BJP stakeholders are, above all, the electorate.Digital Marketing Agency-Nikulsan Technologies

The Best Advice I Ever Got
Shahrukh Khan
There are two pieces of advice that Shah Rukh Khan says shaped his life and work. One from his beloved (late) mother. She told him once: ‘When doing your work, running a business or simply living your life, never think of reducing your expenses. Instead, think of ways to increase your income. The time and energy you spend on trying to plug holes, if they are spent on thinking of constructive ways to increase your income, will bear better results. It’s also a more positive way of working.’
The other piece of wisdom he holds dear is from one of his oldest friends, actor-director Viveck Vaswani. Says King Khan, ‘He told me : “When you start acting in movies, don’t go by what films you want to be in, because you won’t have much of a choice. First get to be in a position of choice and then do the films your heart desires. Become a star and then fulfil your artistic and storytelling instincts. Basically, deserve before you desire the roles you want.”’
