HTML 5: It could mean the end of social media platforms

HTML5, the new web standard that allows to make interactive web pages, is going to revolutionize the media and advertising industries and could mean that social media networks properties, like Facebook, are at the beginning of the end of their life cycle.  While this iceberg is still in the distance marketers and brands had better be keeping an eye on their course because HTML 5 is going to change everything we know about interactive marketing.
HTML5 is going to change everything. “In HTML5, an ad is an app, a tweet is an app, everything is an app.” ”It’s a blank sheet of paper, and creativity rules again.”  In HTML5, you don’t need to have display ads: Amazon can have a section of its store as an ad. So if you’re reading a book review, you can buy the book right from the page.  Because HTML5 can make sites rich and interactive, engagement on a site can go from seconds to minutes and can be right from within the site. Essentially Twitter/Facebook will be built right in the app.  So a site could say: we have 5 sponsors today, which one would you like, and the sponsor follows you around throughout your experience on the site. ”The fact that you can create and satisfy demand in the same place is only true in infomercials today, but it will be true on the web.” This, in turn, is highly disruptive to TV advertising.
What might an HTMl5 social media app look like ?  Well it could, for example, be an embedded chat and share app directly embedded on every website you go to on the right so that you can share it and engage other people right from the site.  No more having to Like or share the URL.  A great example would be shopping for a new care where, once on the brands site, you could ask others “anyone have this car and what do they think of it?”.   On Amazon rather than read static reviews you could talk to others right from a books page and learn about the author, plot or characters.
HTML5 allows the embedding of animation or other multimedia without the use of FLASH or Microsoft’s Siverlight.  It is fast and does not take up so many resources so it is perfect for use with mobile devices and will make tablets that much more faster.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science that aims to create it. AI textbooks define the field as "the study and design of intelligent agents where an intelligent agent is a system that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chances of success. John McCarthy, who coined the term in 1956, defines it as "the science and engineering of making intelligent machines.
The field was founded on the claim that a central property of humans, intelligence—the sapience of Homo sapiens—can be so precisely described that it can be simulated by a machine. This raises philosophical issues about the nature of the mind and the ethics of creating artificial beings, issues which have been addressed by myth, fiction and philosophysince antiquity. Artificial intelligence has been the subject of optimism, but has also suffered setbacks and, today, has become an essential part of the technology industry, providing the heavy lifting for many of the most difficult problems in computer science.
AI research is highly technical and specialized, and deeply divided into subfields that often fail to communicate with each other. Subfields have grown up around particular institutions, the work of individual researchers, the solution of specific problems, longstanding differences of opinion about how AI should be done and the application of widely differing tools. The central problems of AI include such traits as reasoning, knowledge, planning, learning, communication, perception and the ability to move and manipulate objects. General intelligence (or "strong AI") is still among the field's long term goals.
